Veterinarian Rafael Cavalcante joins Technical Services team to deepen customer relationships and provide hands-on support across the region
CAMPINAS, Brazil – Aviagen® has appointed experienced veterinarian Rafael Cavalcante to work alongside customers in Minas Gerais and Goiás, providing close, consistent on-farm guidance across the region. Drawing on his veterinary background, Cavalcante will offer practical, in-depth advice to customers to support chicken health and welfare.
According to Luiz Mansano, Aviagen’s Commercial Manager in Brazil, the new addition reflects the company’s continued focus on delivering reliable support. “Our priority is to give customers everything they need to get the best from our Ross® 308 AP poultry. Strengthening our regional team is part of a structured approach to growth and reflects our ongoing investment in people to help customers achieve strong, sustainable performance on farm, while advancing animal welfare,” he said.
Experience in the field and in management
Cavalcante brings more than 15 years of experience in poultry production, with a strong background across leading agribusiness companies and cooperatives. His experience includes chicken breeder management, hatchery operations and broiler production, giving him a broad understanding of the full production cycle.
In addition to his veterinary degree, he holds an MBA in Agribusiness Management and focuses on continuous improvement, biosecurity and efficient poultry management practices. “I’m excited to join Aviagen and contribute to the team,” said Cavalcante. “My experience across different stages of poultry production allows me to support customers in Minas Gerais and Goiás in a practical way. The goal is to work side by side with customers to improve flock results while supporting food safety and security, along with sustainable production.”
Staying close to customers in key poultry regions
Minas Gerais and Goiás are important poultry-producing regions in Brazil. Strengthening the team in these areas helps ensure closer follow-up and timely guidance for customers, while addressing day-to-day farm challenges.
Rodrigo Tedesco, Aviagen’s Services Manager in Brazil, highlighted the value of Cavalcante’s experience. “Rafael brings a strong, well-rounded understanding of poultry production, along with the ability to connect effective flock management practices across the operation. His experience helps strengthen day-to-day decision-making on farm and adds value for our customers across the region,” he said.
