Company introduces Ross 150 Club, as results go from strength to strength
EDINBURGH, Scotland. – Despite challenges presented by the past years of the COVID pandemic, Ross® 308 poultry producers in Hungary have continued to break records. During a ceremony on Nov. 24 in Budapest, the Aviagen® Kft team honored their best achievers from the years 2019, 2020 and 2021, and, due to their never-before-seen performance, raised the bar to the Ross 150 Club. Thus, the new requirement for entry to the Club is now 150 chicks per hen housed (chicks/HH) by 60 weeks of age. The top award was presented to Bro-Ker-Bét Kft for their impressive output of 166.83 chicks/HH at Farm Újhartyán 3 in 2020.
The Aviagen team also took the opportunity to engage with representatives and their managers from the six companies being recognized on current hot topics. Aviagen President of European Operations Patrick Claeys spoke to the group about the European market, including the European Chicken Commitment, while Aviagen Kft Regional Technical Manager Dejan Bosanac discussed the present and future of the broiler breeding industry, and Sales Manager Krisztina Németh presented the results of Ross 308 Parent Stock in the region over the past years. One of the highlights was Dejan reporting an average annual increase of 2.8 hatching eggs/hen housed since 2018 across the whole Aviagen Kft region. General Manager of Bro-Ker-Bét Gábor Kiszel explained that his company has been a loyal Ross customer for decades. “We have followed the continuous development of the breed and have seen the production figures improve year on year. The growing number of eggs per hen/housed and the steady high rates of hatchability have enabled us to supply more and more of our customers with quality day-old chicks. We are confident that our production indicators will continue to go from strength to strength in the coming years.”
Aviagen Kft could not be more proud of the Ross 150 Club winners, according to General Manager Balázs Takács. “I am delighted that, after two years, we have once again had the opportunity to organize our traditional award ceremony. The results show that the progress made with the Ross 308 breed is reflected in the performance of our customers. Never before have such good numbers been recorded in Hungary. I am pleased to welcome these members of the new Ross 150 Club, and look forward to seeing their future success.”
