EDINBURGH, Scotland. – Aviagen Kft, based in Hungary and responsible for breeder chick deliveries to Central and Eastern Europe, proudly announces its certification as an Authorized Economic Operator (AEO), effective Jan. 29, 2024. Introduced by the World Customs Organization (WCO) in 2008, the AEO program is designed to strengthen international supply chain security while streamlining the movement of goods. It was created as part of the Framework of Standards to Secure and Facilitate Global Trade (SAFE Framework), aimed at facilitating global trade. Companies granted the certification are formally recognized by customs authorities as trusted trading associates, a testament to their reliability and compliance with WCO standards.
For Aviagen Kft, this prestigious certification underscores the security of its role within the supply chain and confirms the efficiency and compliance of its procedures and custom controls with WCO regulations. Achieving AEO status also provides considerable benefits, enhancing the efficiency of transporting valuable chicks across borders.
"After Zsuzsa Kato, Aviagen Kft AEO Project Coordinator, initiated the process in August of last year, our dedicated team's meticulous preparation culminated in a successful audit by the Customs office,” commented Balazs Takacs, General Manager, Aviagen Kft. “We are honored to receive this certification, marking another milestone in our commitment to enhancing supply chain security and continually promoting bird welfare.”
