BANGKOK, Thailand. – The Aviagen® Global Nutrition Team (GNT) has gained a new member. Temporarily based in Melbourne, Australia, before moving to Asia, Karthik Kesavan will provide nutritional advice to Aviagen customers and internal teams throughout Asia, Australia, and New Zealand. Leveraging the latest knowledge based on Aviagen’s in-depth, ongoing research and development efforts, his goal will be to strengthen the health, welfare, and performance of Aviagen birds through optimal feed and nutrition.
Exceptional nutrition expertise, education
With more than a decade of experience in the animal feeding industry – including integrated breeders and layer management, ration formulation, feed milling, and lean manufacturing processes – Karthik comes to Aviagen from Ridley corporation. There he was responsible for designing feeding programs and nutritional strategies to optimize performance of commercial layers, broiler breeders, and broilers; support research and development projects; and train sales teams. Before then, he worked with Kinross Farms, Australia, where his roles included farm supervision, feed manufacturing and process optimization. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Animal and Veterinary Biosciences from La Trobe University and a Master of Science in Agriculture from the University of New England, both in Australia.
“We are pleased to welcome Karthik to our Aviagen Asia Pacific family,” commented Greg Hitt, Regional Technical Manager Aviagen Asia. “At Aviagen, our philosophy is ‘to breed the best, we need the best,’ and based on his credentials and experience, we are confident he will make valuable contributions to our company, the businesses of our customers, and the health of their flocks.”
